Science prize winners of the Heinrich Heine University

Honouring scientists and scholars with prizes has long been a tradition. As early as the 18th century, scientific prizes were awarded by academic associations and academies. In the 19th century, numerous scientific prizes were sponsored by patrons such as the Swedish manufacturer, Alfred Nobel. One of the Nobel prizes was awarded to Werner Forßmann who was an honorary professor at HHU.
