National and Regional Government Funding

Advice

Applications for funding within national government programmes are generally submitted in two stages. No signature from University management is required for the preliminary proposal. Following the scientific evaluation of the proposal, the formal application is submitted which must be signed by the Chancellor. We are happy to help you at all stages of your application with formal aspects, proposal content and budget calculation.
If you are working at the Faculty of Medicine, please address any questions about funding from the Federal Ministry of Education and Research to the Research Officer of the Faculty of Medicine.

Funding programmes of the regional government

As a general rule, applications for funding from the State of North Rhine-Westphalia must be submitted via the President’s Office. Therefore if you have a relevant project, you should inform us as early as possible of any applications you plan to submit.

After approval

Information about what happens with your project once it has been approved – funding notification, setting up of a cost centre, personnel recruitment, services available from the Third-party Funding Department – can be found on the Project Implementation page.
